Triclafas Drench is a flukicide for the specific treatment and control of the liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) infections in sheep. When used at the recommended dose rate Triclafas Drench is effective against all stages of triclabendazole susceptible Fasciola hepatica from 2 day old early immature forms to adult fluke. Triclafas Drench is given as an oral drench and is suitable for use through most types of automatic drenching guns. Recommended dose rate: 10 mg triclabendazole per kilogram bodyweight i.e., 1ml Triclafas Drench per 5kg bodyweight. For each additional 5kg add 1ml to dose. As a guide, dose all sheep exposed to fluke infected pastures preventatively at regular intervals of 10 weeks from March/April through to October/November. If stock is outwintered, a dose in January may also be required. All animals grazing the pasture should be treated at these times. All bought in animals should be dosed before joining the main flock - it may be advisable to keep these treated animals away from snail-infested areas for 4 weeks after dosing. Veterinary advice should be sought with regard to specific preventative dosing regimes. The flock should be treated immediately after diagnosis is reached and veterinary advice should be sought for subsequent dosing intervals. Sheep must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment. Sheep may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 56 days from the last treatment. Do not administer to sheep producing milk intended for human consumption. Should not be used in sheep less than 7 weeks old. Intensive use or misuse of anthelmintics can give rise to resistance. To reduce this risk, dosing programmes should be discussed with your Veterinary Surgeon. Efficacy of this product against liver fluke is reduced if triclabendazole-resistant strains are present. Assess bodyweight accurately as possible before calculating the dosage. Triclabendazole overdosage may cause transient inappetance and loss of bodyweight.
For animal treatment only. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use in cases of known hypersentivity to triclabendazole. ‹ Read Less
